South Tyneside Warm Zone
• A 2 year not-for-profit partnership:
South Tyneside Council, the BEST group,
Scottish & Southern Energy, WZL and others
• Aims: To tackle fuel poverty; improve energy
efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in a
systematic way within Private Housing
• Delivering home insulation with integrated
benefits advice and energy efficiency advice
Objectives
• Reducing fuel poverty in South Tyneside
• Delivering warmer, healthier homes
• Tackling climate change (cost effectively)
• Improving private sector decent homes standards
• Improving social and economic inclusion
• Increasing climate change awareness/engagement
The Warm Zone delivery mechanism
1) Marketing / awareness raising
2) Doorstep assessment questionnaires
3) Analysis & qualification for free measures
