The Covenant Signatories commit to:
• Go beyond EU policy objectives -20% of energy
consumption, 20% of renewables in energy
balances and -20% in CO2 emission by 2020
• Support their commitment with a Sustainable
Energy Action Plan (SEAP)
• Publish periodic reports to show progress and
results
• Encourage other cities to join the initiative
• Involve citizens and other stakeholders

Covenant of Mayors East office in Lviv
CoMO-East office has been launched on the 20
September 2011 as a branch office of the Covenant of
Mayors Office in Brussels
This new office will aim at “Supporting participation of
Eastern Partnership and Central Asian Cities in the
Covenant of Mayors
It will help and advise the
cities from Eastern
Partnership countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus,
Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) and 5 Central Asian countries
(Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) in their
efforts towards sustainable energy
The office is managed by a consortium led by Energy-Cities and
composed of CLIMATE ALLIANCE, EECU, NL-Agency and CAREC.
CoMO-East's four principal missions
1.
Promotion of the Covenant eastwards;
2.
Capacity building and training in support of the
implementation of the Covenant of Mayors in the
region;
3.
Helpdesk function and support
implementation of cities proposals;
4.
Support to donors’ coordination for SEAP’s
sector-wide approach (in particular, financing
SEAP investments).
