Objectives
In the lead-up to the ILC 2009 general discussion
 Raise awareness on overcoming barriers and
benefits of gender equality as a main driver for
sustainable development
 Highlight the specific linkages between gender
equality and securing decent work for all women
and men
 Further advance gender equality in the world of
work at the national level
Target audiences
 Public awareness raising campaign  target as
broad as possible
 Main target audiences: national governments,
employers, workers organizations
 Allies and partners: the larger UN family, regional
organizations, academia, NGOs and the media
