Sun Safety Tips
• Use a sunscreen ,but do not solely depend on
them. Be aware that not all sunscreens protect
from all types of skin damage/cancer and don’t
be fooled by high SPF—gives false security. So…
•
•
•
•
•
Check moles that are tender or growing
Wear protective clothing, stay in shade
Wear sunglasses
Wear hats
Avoid sun from noon to 3 or 4. or depending
on the area from 10 until 2

A Few Other Sun Tips
• Make sure sunscreen is re-applied every 2 hours because of
sweating and/or time in the pool.
•
Since the sun also can cause eye damage, essential even for
children to wear sunglasses even while playing.
•
Extra supplements especially Vita C Chewables --important
because the sun can suppress the immune system and the sun
depletes vitamin c.
•
Children can forget to re-hydrate because they might not want
to stop playing— make sure get plenty of water or better yet
Performance.
•
Need to see to it that they get a break from the sun by going
in the shade or by going indoors.
•
Help children to understand these important rules by reading
books that are available that teach dangers of unprotected sun
exposure.

And so with the sunshine and the great bursts
of leaves growing on the trees, just as things
grow in fast movies, I had that familiar
conviction that life was beginning over again
with the summer.
