INTRODUCTION
•
The creator of Bluetooth technology is originally from Germany called
Jaap Haartsen.
•
He first began this invention in Netherlands during his experimental trails
at a lab.
•
Jaap has been always looking for new and useful ways
•
Bluetooth can be used within telecommunication.
•
He also works with his team in order to find new and creative
applications that may be used in others ways in the future.
•
The Bluetooth technology has been developed in 1994 where it has
become a great revolution for communication.
•
The inventor Haartsen has also worked hard in which he wanted to keep
reducing the number of cable connections in Bluetooth communication
reaching a wireless way to connect with other devices.

It is an effortless and
short distance
connection between two
or more devices such as
desktops, laptops, cell
phones, digital
cameras, fax phones,
and internet
connections.
THE NAME:

(Famous logos, 2010) The name chosen for Bluetooth
was inspired back then from the 10th century, as King
Harald Bluetooth was well known for uniting the
Scandinavian country in Europe through a period of war
in that time.

The secret behind the Bluetooth logo
is a combination of “Nomadic runes
analogues” and the recent “Latin H”
stands for Haglazl and B stands for
Berkanan.

The join of these two letters means
the way of connection or link between
two different devices.

The combination of colors of white
background and name with black and
blue chosen in the Bluetooth logo
resemble unity, trust, and power.

Meaning that the connection of
Bluetooth technology is strong a
strong communication for usage and
trustworthy.
LOGO

Bluetooth as an electronic wireless connection in a way such that
an individual is able to share and exchange data without the use
of cable connection.

As in for this connection may possibly reach with a use of
maximum of 8 devices.

This Bluetooth technology is a connection where wavelength
signals are sent and received between a sending and a receiving
device.

These are mainly radio transmissions; using ISM band of a range
between 2400 and 2480 MHZ.

(Wikipedia, 2012) ISM is known to be as a radio frequency for
various uses such as; industrial, scientific, and medical purposes.
Bluetooth characteristics:
Cabled connection can be replaced by wireless
connection; such as a mouse, keyboard, or video games
parts.
 Frequency band of 2.4 GHz
 Short distance connection of a maximum 5 meters. (may
be expanded to a range between 10 and 50 meters)
 The device used is the main leader
 The leading device allows to serf
 Data speed reaches 721 Kbps

 Bluetooth
via mobile
phones are frequently used
between people in order to
send multimedia.
 Such
as pictures, videos,
voice notes, music, and
sometimes some sort of
documentation

The cell phone can be
connected to the car by the use
of an option I the car, the option
is set to be able to wirelessly be
connected.

Bluetooth connection for radio, a
specific radio frequency is set
and by the use of Bluetooth
connection between the cell
phone and the radio in the car

We may listen to particular
played music or any other kind
of voice notes

Bluetooth connections
are used in laptops or
desktops are somehow
similar to the uses of cell
phone connections

Two or more laptops or
desktops can be
connected to send and
receive data or
information being
transferred simply and
timelessly.
 For
few laptops they connect to
wireless internet connections
through the means of Bluetooth
connection.
 This is a slightly easy way to use
internet connection without the
use of any type of cabling, and
other laptops normally connect
to the internet through Wi-Fi
connections.

BLUETOOTH COMPONENTS

Bluetooth consists of four important components:
1. Antenna
2. Bluetooth Radio
Frequency
(RF) and Baseband
3. Bluetooth software
protocol
Stake
4. The application itself
BLUETOOTH COMPONENTS
1) Antenna: an electrical device that converts electric power into radio
waves and it is usually connected with the receiver through a
transmission line.
2) Bluetooth Radio Frequency (RF) and Baseband: RF is ( the
hardware transceiver unit) that implements the Bluetooth radio
specification that ensures all the devices with Bluetooth wireless
technology can communicate easily. Baseband is responsible for
the physical functions among devices.
BLUETOOTH COMPONENTS
3) Bluetooth Software Protocol Stack: “the driver code” which allows
the application software to send and receive information from the
Bluetooth module and consists of several components:
 Link manager (LM): manages the link at the initializing stage of the
connection.
 (L2CAP): its services include protocol multiplexing, segmentation
and quality of service.
 (HCI): link manager services that is independent from the host
hardware implementation
 SDP: provides high level services to the users.
 Audio/Telephony Control: these protocols are connected with each
other and because telephony Control contains Call Control and
Audio Control. It is responsible for the interface that is used to
connect and disconnect a call.
BLUETOOTH COMPONENTS



RECOMM: provides protocols that equalize cables with Bluetooth
and depends on the baseband to provide the good byte stream.
HI: uses plug and play a big role when using devices such as
keyboards and mice.
TCP/IP: a good way to connect the devices together and it is
basically a network that transports layers which are supported by
applications.
4) The application itself: such as WAP and also JINI that is
requiring that the communication between a client and the
services used by that client are accomplished through a Java
interface.
THE TRANSMISSION PROCESS
when the user press the button that opens the
Bluetooth, SDP will look for the available services and
determine whether they are suitable for the devices or
not.
 LM will manage the connection between the connected
devices and after that the user will define the exact
data to be transmitted which means that the
multiplexing process will start .
 Finally, if there is any audio file or a call to be
transmitted
such
as
the
“car
call”
then
Audio/Telephony control will be responsible for
managing that.

BLUETOOTH ADVANTAGES AND
DISADVANTAGES

Advantages: wireless, has a low cost that attracts users besides
its low power, it is easy to be used to connect with other
devices, it is uncomplicated to use in which two devices only
need to be connected with each other.

Disadvantages: security issues (hackers can get in to the users’
text messages and phone calls when they are 10 meters away
from the device). The range of data transmission is short and
limited so that both of the devices have to be near from each
other and the data rate is low.
USES AND BENEFITS OF BLUETOOTH


1.consumer uses: to connect the headset to the phone, to
connect mice, keyboards, laptops and printers with other devices
to use them for their benefits. Also, many people use Bluetooth in
their cars by connecting their cars speakers and GPS with their
devices.
2. industrial uses: in the medical sector in the ambulance by
using the lightweight machine besides using the machines that
measure the pulse of the patients, in the military sector in some
countries and some companies open the gates automatically.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BLUETOOTH AND THE
OTHER CONNECTION WAYS

Infrared wireless (IR) : invisible radiation
that is used between devices within one
place or one room. IR wireless is used in
the line-of-sight laser communications, the
home- entertainment control units,
cordless microphones, headsets, modems
and printers.

Ultra wideband: a radio energy that
transmits data by radiation in a wide range
of frequency. It uses the radio
communication at home, company, store…
etc and at any place that contains radio
communication.

Information System? If yes please explain.
6. If you had the chance to change the name of Bluetooth to another name
that expresses it, what would it be?
THE ANALYSIS OF THE SURVEY




43. 8% of people think that Bluetooth affects people’s lives positively
and 50% think that it affects them sometime.
43.8% think that the use of Bluetooth is not increasing in the
technology world and 28.1% think that it is increasing.
59.4% think that Bluetooth could sometimes cover people’s needs in
this era and only 21. 9% think that it is serving them and this is not a
satisfactory result to be considered.
Survey revealed that some people are still using Bluetooth to connect
between two devices other than phones, they use it between phones
and laptops, in cars, between printers and computers through scanning,
but at the same time most of people who took the survey said that they
don’t use Bluetooth between devices other than phones.
THE ANALYSIS OF THE SURVEY


The survey also shows that the majority of people who took the survey
have no idea about how Bluetooth is related to management information
system except that it transfers data between two devices.
The survey also asked people to choose another name for Bluetooth
which represents its process and need and the answers were as the
following: sharing files, far control, the exchanger, connector, blue speed,
between two and the bad technology.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1)
2)
3)
4)
People should aware themselves more about the functions and the
importance of Bluetooth through doing researches.
Bluetooth has to be activated in users’ phones and devices most of the
time in order to make it more practical to be used again between devices.
Industries and companies could increase their use of Bluetooth by using
machines, equipment and devices that require having Bluetooth which
will cost them less and increase the use of it.
Since many people like playing music in their homes, offices and cars
they could use stereo and sound systems and connect them in to their cell
phones.
Conclusion:
Bluetooth has made our lives easier by being able to connect in anyway
anywhere we wanted.
We may simply be connected to any device without the use of any
cabling.
The effect of the Bluetooth on different markets is very clear and
impressive.
as people nowadays are prefer to use different type of technology devices
that make their life easier, the demand of the new devices that applied
Bluetooth in it is increasing rapidly.
An example of a new device that does not be created yet but might be
created soon is a watch that can be connected to smart phone using
Bluetooth; so the user of it can receive messages and read them throw the
watch even if the phone is hidden somewhere.
