WHY IS BEACON PROPGRAM
IMPORTANT TO OUR COUNTY?
 $ 1.7 million investment in PH-Doc, user owned
and designed local public health software
operating in all 11 SE MN local public health
departments
 Lays the groundwork for better data about the
health status of our community
 Increases LPH infrastructure for more effective
secure data exchange i.e. communicable
diseases
 Addresses two local public health
responsibilities of Community Health Boards
