THE HEART
• The heart pumps blood all over the body.
• When you exercise, the heart beats faster to
pump blood to the muscles.
• When you sleep, the heart slows down. This is
so the heart and body can rest.

THE LUNGS
There are
2 lungs in
the body.
The lungs are on each side of the heart.
They help you breath. When you exercise,
the lungs and heart work faster to deliver
oxygen to your muscles.

Asthma
• Asthma is a condition that keeps people from
breathing well. It is not contagious so you can
not catch it from someone that has it.
• When someone has asthma, they can have an
asthma attack when they exercise. An inhaler
can be used to help them breathe easier.
