 Offers
60 step by step lessons in high
school Algebra and Basic College
Algebra.
 Automatically saves the last session the
user was working on. Unfortunately users
have to start from the beginning of that
course should they close out of the
program before completion.
 In
order for the user to move to the next
level, he/she must obtain 100 points.
 Program will repeat similar problems until
the users appears proficient.
 Provides oral and visual feedback after the
user has answered a question.
 Once the user has completed a level, they
receive either gold or silver circle. If the
circle is gold user scored 95% or better and
made few errors. A silver circle means user
scored 90% and made several mistakes.
 Provides
definitions for variable,
coefficient, term, constant, algebraic
expression, and equation.
 Reviews the definitions using songs and
videos.
 Matching involved dropping numeric
algebraic terms, expressions, or
equations within a battery container
according to the given term.
 Informs
students how to write algebraic
terms involving multiplication.
 Indicates why students shouldn’t use x for
multiplication and shows 2 other ways to
write multiplication problems.
 For example
4●7● x or
(4)(7)(x) or
28x
 Reviews
the rules for multiplying terms
with the same base, dividing terms with
the same base, raising power to a power
and negative exponents.
 Students have to unlock the problems,
choose the correct expression and then
match it with the correct answer.
 A note sheet is provided and shows users
examples for each rule taught.
 Reviews
PEMDAS through song.
 The first types of practice problems are on
first determining which operations is
performed first.
 Then student complete similar problems on
their own, determining on scrap paper the
correct answer.
• Displays the process after you have keyed in an
answer.
• If your answer is incorrect, it will review the correct
steps visually and orally.
 Teaches
the difference between like
terms and unlike terms.
 How to add like terms.
 Drill and Practice on adding like terms.
 This is the only section so far where the
user has more autonomy and key in
response instead of drag and drop.
 Reviews
how to do the distributive
property over Addition and Subtraction
and provides clear easy visual examples.
 Problems require the user to indicate
what





Too many drill and practice problems in certain areas.
Students must follow a specified path to complete the
60 levels, no way to advance to other levels if students
are proficient in certain areas, but not in others.
Multiply Variables section should allow users to input
answers instead of being to forced to drag and drop
their answers within the input box.
Doesn’t follow Pennsylvania curriculum standards.
Since students can’t jump around within the program,
students wouldn’t do well on standardized tests that
must be taken every 6 weeks.
Students are allowed to go back to previous levels by
click the Review button.
 No
rewind button, if you missed previous
instructions.
 You have to get a problem wrong, before
instructions are restated.
 No clear explanation, for how points are
assigned to problems.
 No review for previous sections
completed.
 Liked
many of the songs, although after a
while it does become tedious.
 Although the program doesn’t align with
Pennsylvania's curriculum timeline, their
timeline may be more appropriate.
 No time limit
 If the user gets a problem wrong, he/she
doesn’t have to start all over again
