They will also apply it to multistep problems and decimal numbers. Find the Area. Answer: 25 Division is dividing numbers 4/2=2 10/2=5 36/4=9 Fractions are non-whole numbers aka less than 1 but not 0 Ex ½ ¾ 28/30 1/100 Decimal numbers are also fraction, but they can be irrational or greater than 1 Ex 5.5 0.3333333333 (1/3) 0.48394785893839484555343 (irrational number) 3.14 0.1 one tenth 0.01 one hundredth 0.001 one thousandth There are big numbers that can be multiplied too Ex 15x3=45 100x30=3000 Numbers raised to a power is how many times a number is multiplied by itself Ex 10^2=100 10x10 2^5=32 2x2x2x2x2 Any number raised to the second power 2^2=4 2x2 5^2=25 5x5 Area of a circle: 3.14xR^2 Pi=3.14 R=radius Ex 3.14X2^2 Answer: 39.44 Find the area of a circle with a radius of 5 round your answers to the nearest hundredth Answer: 246.49 A number cubed is any number raised to the third power Ex 3^3=27 5^3= 125 A number that is multiplied by itself to get a number Square root of 49 is 7 Square root of 9 is 3 [Web Photo].
