Resistors
•
Resistors are used in almost every electronic circuit.
•
They are used to control the flow of current and provide precise voltages.
•
Values are in Ω, kΩ and MΩ.
•
Their accuracy, or tolerance, is measured as a percentage deviation from
the exact ideal value that they should be.
•
They have a power rating – the maximum amount of power that they can
dissipate.

Carbon and metal oxide resistors
are marked according to a colour
code.
