PHASE 1 Grammar:
1. Articles (masculine, feminine, plural)
2. Formal & informal subject pronouns
3. Adjective agreements
4. Possessive and Demonstrative adjectives
5. Present tense of Regular verbs
6. Four irregular verbs (to have, to be, to go, to do)
7. The negative form
8. Basic linking words
9. Asking / Answering basic questions
PHASE 1/2 Units:
1. “This is me” (Revision of Phase 1: Myself & my
family; school & daily routine; home & town,
sports & leisure activities)
2. Food and Drinks
3. Free time and Shopping (clothes)
4. Past events (what I did last weekend/yesterday)
PHASE 1/2 Grammar:
1. Revision of Phase 1 Grammar knowledge
2. Irregular Adjective agreements
3. Reflexive verbs
4. Modal verbs (want, can, must)
5. A list of irregular verbs in the present tense
6. Introduction to the past tense (preterit)
7. Relative pronouns (who, that)
8. More sophisticated linking words
9. Asking / Answering simple questions
PHASE 2 Units:
1. “Who I am”: (Revision of Phase 1/2 : This is
me, food & drinks, free time & shopping for
clothes)
2. Past holidays (preterit tense)
3. How life used to be (imperfect tense)
4. The environment
PHASE 2 Grammar:
1. Revision of Phase 1/2 Grammar knowledge
2. Consolidation of the present tense (regular irregular,
modal and reflexive verbs)
3. Consolidation of the past tense (preterit)
4. More negative forms
5. Direct object pronouns (me, you, him/her, us, them)
6. Introduction to the Imperfect tense (was + Verb–ing)
7. Asking / Answering more complex questions
Language is part of Culture!
We will also build knowledge and appreciation of the
French / Spanish-speaking cultures and traditions.
