Transcript Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross

Jesus keep me near the Cross
Where a precious fountain
Free to all a healing stream
Flows from Calvary’s fountain.
In the Cross, in the Cross
Be my glory ever.
Till my ruptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river
Near the Cross a trembling soul
Love and mercy found me
There the bright and morning star
Shed its beams around me.
At the cross her
station keeping
Stood the mournful
Mother weeping
Close to Jesus to
the last.
The First Station
Jesus is Condemned to Die
Through her heart His
sorrows sharing
At his bitter anguish
bearing
Now at length the sword
had passed.
The Second Station:
Jesus Carries His Cross
Oh how sad and sore
distressed
Was that Mother highly
blessed
Of the sole begotten
One.
The Third Station:
Jesus Falls the First Time
Christ above in
torment hangs
She beneath beholds
the pangs
Of her dying glorious
Son
The Fourth Station:
Jesus Meets His Mother
Is there one who
would not weep
Whelmed in miseries
so deep
Christ’s dear Mother
to behold.
The Fifth Station:
Simon Helps Jesus Carry His Cross
Can the human
heart refrain
From partaking in
her pain
In that Mother’s
pain untold?
The Sixth Station:
Veronica Wipes Jesus' Face
Bruised, derided,
cursed, defiled,
She beheld her
tender Child
All with bloody
scourges rent.
The Seventh Station:
Jesus Falls the Second Time
For the sins of His
own nation
Saw Him hang in
desolation
Till his Spirit forth is
sent
The Eighth Station:
Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem
O thou Mother,
Fount of love
Touch my spirit
from above
Make my heart
with thine accord.
The Ninth Station:
Jesus Falls the Third Time
Make me feel as
thou hast felt
Make my soul to
glow and melt,
With the love of
Christ my Lord.
The Tenth Station:
Jesus is Stripped
Holy Mother pierce
me through
In my heart each
wound renew
Of my Saviour
crucified
The Eleventh Station:
Jesus is Nailed to the Cross
Let me share with
thee His pain
Who for all our sins
was slain
Who for me in
torments died
The Twelfth Station:
Jesus Dies on the Cross
We hail Thee
Saviour and Lord
Thy cross ever be adored
O cross Thou art the
fountain
Of love and of liberty
Shine down upon the
millions
Who search
for the light of truth.
The Thirteenth Station:
Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross
Let me mingle tears
with thee
Mourning Him who
mourned for me
All the days that I
may live
The Fourteenth Station:
Jesus is Laid in the Tomb
This is my will
My one command
That love should dwell among
you all
This is my will that you should
love
As I have shown that I love
you
No greater love a man can
have
Than that he dies to save his
friends
You are my friends if you obey
What I command that you
should do.
