Verb Tenses
Past, Present, Future,
and Perfect
Definition
TENSE:
basically
means time
Present Tense = Today
The present tense NEVER
has a helping verb!
To form the present tense, use
the base form of the verb.
Example
Megan goes to the store.

Past Tense = Yesterday
(has already happened)
The past tense never has
a helping verb.
To form the past tense, add an
–ed ending to the base form of
the verb.

Helping Verbs for Future Tense

will or shall before the base
form of the verb.
