Regular Verbs
Regular verbs in Spanish are classified according to
their “infinitive” ending.In English these verbs are
typically preceeded with the word “to”:
“ar” (Caminar)
“er” (Correr)
“ir” (Vivir)
To Walk
To Run
To Live
*The correct conjugation will depend on the identification of
the word and its root in order to proceed with the conjugation.

For Example:
Verbs ending in “ar” such as:
• Hablar
•Caminar
•Bailar
•Nadar
•Rogar
•Jugar
•Nadar
•Cocinar
•Preguntar
Regular Verbs
These will follow a pattern of change once the stem has
been identified:
Lets take the verb “Bailar” as an example:
Yo
Bailo
Tú
Bailas
El/Ella
Baila
Nosotros(as)
Bailamos
Vosotros
Bailáis
Ustedes
Bailan

In order to grasp how to conjugate these verbs you must
practice! Make a table like the previous one and
try identifying the stem in order to conjugate properly.
hablar, bailar, buscar, jugar, buscar…

Verbs with “er” and “ir”
endings:

Regular Verbs
As in “ar” ending verbs, we identify the stem of the word and follow the
pattern of change. For example:
Comer
Yo
Como
Tú
Comes
El/Ella
Come
Nosotros (as)
Comemos
Vosotros
Coméis
Ustedes
Comen
Regular Verbs
“Ir” Verbs change in a pattern almos exactly like “er” verbs,
except for the “nosotros” and “vosotros” forms.
Example:
Dormir
Yo
Duermo
Tú
Duermes
El/Ella
Duerme
Nosotros
Dormimos
Vosotros
Dormís
Ustedes
Duermen
