When to use Nominative Case?
1. When the pronoun is used as the SUBJECT OF
THE SENTENCE!!!
2. When the pronoun is used as the PREDICATE
NOMINATIVE!!!
A predicate nominative is the noun or pronoun that
follows a linking verb (am, is, are, was, were, etc.)
When to use OBJECTIVE CASE?
1. When the pronoun is used as the DIRECT
OBJECT OF THE SENTENCE!!!
2. When the pronoun is used as the INDIRECT
OBJECT OF THE SENTENCE!!!
3. When the pronoun is used as the OBJECT OF
THE PREPOSITION!!!
DIRECT OBJECTS
1. Find the ACTION VERB!!!
2. Ask, “What” or “Whom”
after the action verb!!
INDIRECT OBJECTS
1. Find the ACTION VERB!!!
2. Find the DIRECT OBJECT!!!
3. Ask, “To/for whom” after the direct object!
4. Ask, “To /for what” after the direct object!!
** The direct or indirect object will NOT be found
in a prepositional phrase!!!
