Mom, will you get me a new phone?
On the first day of February, Lynn rented
her favorite movie for the last time.
Despite the fact that their divorce was
possibly going to be final in the next
twenty-four hours, Brennon picked up
the phone to call Patrice.
Running down the street, Jess felt the
phone in her pocket vibrate.
My grandma, who reads at least three
books a week, never goes to the library.
If the deal is on, which we believe it may
be, then I will be there at noon.
Every week in my classroom, except
when we have “snow days”, freshmen
have vocabulary quizzes on Friday.
That afternoon we decided to have dad
drive us downtown, find a nice place to
eat, and watch a movie.
Greta’s purse was filled with papers,
ponytails, and pink barrettes.
Filing papers, grading essays, and
teaching classes are all part of a typical
day as an English teacher.

The boys went to the river, and they
fished all day long.
Greta’s purse was bought at Goodwill, so
her mother sewed a designer patch on it.
We could go to the movies with my Dad,
or we could just stay home and watch
movies.
I did not want to work on my class, nor
did I want to do my housework.
On March 19, 1979, an extraordinary
baby was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Greta’s purse was bought at Goodwill in
Phoenix, Arizona, on May 18, 2006, by
her mother.
The wedding will take place on July 4,
2010, in Bejing, China.
There was a smelly, green piece of food
on my sweater.
Greta had a large, exquisite purse.
They are planning a tacky, overly
expensive wedding in China.
The boy picked up his spoon and
shoveled the runny, odorous concoction
into his mouth.
“Mom,” Greta said, “this is the perfect
purse.”
“When you arrive in China, tell the
attendant you are with the Ewell
wedding,” Mayella gushed. “They will
treat you like the queen of the Nile.”
The boy whispered, “I can’t believe I lost
the biggest fish in the world.”
Her favorite word is “hugger mugger”
which means confusion.
The letter “D” was difficult in my hunt to
have an alphabetized family.
Why NOT here?
The tear rolled down Mom’s eye as she
looked at my report card, “Only one D, the
rest Cs. I am so proud.”
“There is a snake in my boot, Buzz.”
“Anytime that I think you are listening,
R.J., I look up and you are asleep.”
“Ella, look at me when I am talking to
you.”
My friend is named Henry Mario Dunkin,
Five.
John F. Kennedy, Junior, died in a plane
crash.
Tana Patch, CEO, called the employees to
a meeting.
There are five seniors going to the zoo,
aren’t there?
The little boy is adorable, but a complete
brat.
Greta loved her purse for many years, until
that day.
It was the chocolate fountain, not dressing
up or hanging out with her friends, that
lured Rita into going to prom her senior
year.
For seniors, the year will end early.
Inside, my house was a disaster.
Keep your car on the driveway, off of the
grass.
There was a man in the house, hiding in
mom’s closet.
