You already know how to use verbs in the
Affirmative or
Negative Form
Now we are going to review the
Interrogative Form
In the Interrogative Form,
you put the helping verb
at the beginning of the sentence.
You put a ? at the end of the sentence.
In English, there is NO mark at the
beginning of a sentence.
Let’s look at some examples in
the Present Tense.
Does Joan walk to school every day?
Do the girls study for the test?
Does my older sister play basketball?
Let’s look at some examples in
the Past Tense.
Did Joan walk to school every day last
week?
Did the girls study for the test?
Did my older sister play basketball in
college?
Let’s look at some examples in
the Future Tense.
Will Joan walk to school every day?
Will the girls study for the test?
Will my older sister play basketball in
college?
In the Interrogative Form, you will
need to use helping verbs from the
Present, Past, and Future Tenses.

1. My mother bakes delicious cookies.
2. My mother does not bake delicious
cookies.
3. Does my mother bake delicious cookies?
1. The children liked the movie they
saw.

saw?
1.My mother will like the mark on my
test.
2. My mother will not like the mark
on my test.
3. Will my mother like the mark on
my test?

You can also use the Interrogative Form
with question words like:
Who? What? When? Where? How?

2.Maria finished it yesterday.
When did Maria finish it?
3. Maria put the assignment on the desk.
Where did Maria put the assignment?
4. Maria worked very carefully on the project.
