BITSAA-SVC Miles Program Mission – To enhance BITS brand to continue attracting quality faculty and students BITS brand A sum of several outstanding achievements and unique innovations (Practice School Program is a prime example) Characterized by pride and passion for BITS among all alumni, students and faculty Miles Program Initiative Funded through donated airline miles to support student and faculty travel to renowned conferences Exposes BITS +vely to the world in a persistent and consistent way Thought behind Miles Program Participation in prestigious conferences Provides opportunity for valuable research experience BITSians get to interact with the best around the world Raises profile of BITS as a research institute Elevates BITS brand and benefits the whole BITS community Substantial investment is involved ($2500 or more) in participating in a single conference Miles Program is based on three-way funding to encourage deserving candidates to participate BITS institute is committed to funding part of travel expenses Air miles donated by BITS Alumni for award tickets Participant is responsible for the remaining expense BITSAA-SVC Miles Program Details BITSAA-SVC collects air miles as donations to sponsor travel awards A relationship is established with Rotary International so that donated miles are consolidated into single charity account Miles Program utilizes United Airlines Foundation Charity Miles Program. So every donated mile will count Miles once donated to Charity Account will not expire All Star Alliance Airlines can be used for award travel Program will award travel tickets to deserving candidates for participation in selected handful of conferences Value-Add to BITS brand will be essential selection criteria Donor names and details will be published on website BITSAA-SVC Miles Program Qualifying travel and selection process Award program will restrict to specific conferences in fields of engineering, sciences, management and economics Program will cover Professors’ travel to prestigious conferences such as MIT’s Technology Review Participant is required to line-up all other items before ticket purchase Selection committee, comprising of BITS faculty is in charge of reviewing applications and administering travel awards Selection is based purely on merit of the proposal in adding value to BITS reputation Ways To Contribute Donate Miles: Pledge United Mileage Plus account miles in the donation form and email to [email protected] If miles in your account are soon expiring, making a donation will also reactivate account and remaining miles will be good for next 18 months.
