Definition
Like in other ancient cultures, Greek mythology was used as an explanation for the environment
in which humankind lived. It explained natural phenomena and the passing of time (days,
seasons, etc).
Myths were also connected to religion, explaining the origin of the gods, the existence of
humanity, the afterlife, and the righteous path for a happy lives.
