Girls and

by everyday to
see her weave.
Arachne liked to boast
about her skill in weaving. She
had claimed that she had
learned the skill of weaving by
herself and nobody could
compete against her not even
the goddess of the skill Athena.
When
Athena had
heard about
Arachne
bragging
and boasting
she got
disappointed.
Athena was
going to
dress up as
an old lady
and appear
right in
front of
Arachne.
When she
arrived in front of
Arachne she said
“My deAr” “I AM old
and have much
experience from
life, so let me give
you one advice:
don’t ever Mess up
with a goddess; no
mortal can compete
against Athena,
take back your
words and kindly
ask for
forgIveness.”
After hearing this Arachne was furious. She
threw the thread at the old woman telling her
she dIdn’t need her AdvIce And thAt If AthenA
really cares then she should come here herself
to compete against her. Athena gave up her
disguise and returned back to herself. Everybody
kneeled to Athena except Arachne.
The
competition had
began. The were
both doing well.
Athena was
weaving the
Parthenon and
her contest with
god Poseidon.
Arachne on the
other hand was
making fun of the
gods in her
weavings.
