Venus Introduction
Venus...
• Venus, the jewel of the sky, was once known to
astronomers as the morning and evening star.
• Early astronomers once thought that Venus
was two separate planets.
Venus..
• Venus was named after the
Roman goddess of love and
beauty.
Venus’s Atmosphere and
Temperature
•Venus is scorched with a surface temperature of
about 900 degrees Fahrenheit.
• The very high temperature is due to a runaway
greenhouse effect caused by the heavy atmosphere
of carbon dioxide.
What Venus Really Looks Like
• Until recently, scientists had been
wondering what the surface of Venus
looks like; now they do .
Venus’s Surface
• Venus’s surface is very young
geographically speaking. It
appears to have resurfaced
300 to 500 million years ago.
• Venus is also scarred by
numerous craters distributed
randomly over its surface.
Venus Conclusion
• All in all, Venus is known as a
sister to Earth.
