Rikubetsu: NIES Bruker 120/5HR FTIR
The current status of the instrument and operation
will be shown by Dr. Morino of NIES at the TCCON
session of this meeting.
> Measurements with “NDACC-mode” are carried
out typically once per week (as shown below).

> Retrievals of the vertical profile of O3, HCl, HNO3 and HF using SFIT4
(v0.944) associated with some helper python-scripts are carried out by
ISEE. The retrieved results indicate need of further tuning of the
parameters. We are now trying to fix these problems.

Rikubetsu: NIES Bruker 120/5HR FTIR
> After comparison with other independent
measurements (Brewer, sonde, satellites, etc), the
retrieval results will be archived in NDACC-DB
(in next July…).
> Vertical profiles and column amounts of other
trace gases, such as CO, CH4, N2O, HCN, C2H6
and CCl4 are also trying to retrieved with SFIT4.
Rikubetsu: ISEE(formerly STEL) Bruker 120M FTIR
> In September 2015, an optical table and a laser unit are renewed, and
adjustment of the optics is made. After that, we confirm the ILS function
measured with the HBr gas cell shows a good performance in comparison
with the old ones.
> Re-analysis of the STEL-FTIR data (1995-2010) with SFIT4 is also in
progress. After comparison with the previous data retrieved by Drs.
Nagahama and Nakajima of NIES, we hope to update the archive files.
ILS-function measurements with the HBr gas cell
After maintenance, the ILS-function
seems to be better than the previous
ones, although there is a systematic
difference between the FWD and
BWD phase errors.

Moshiri: many works for renewal was done…
Moshiri Observatory will close in March 2017.(This is not an official statement)
> The main building is too aged, and is needed much effort to maintain the
observatory facilities.
> Our two operators at the observatory are retired in next March due to
university regulation. It is difficult to find other persons to work at the
site.
We are now considering some options to use the instruments at Moshiri.
> Some VLF/UHF antennas and an in-site sampling instrument will be
moved to Rikubetsu.
> Sky photometers and NDACC UV/Vis spectrometers are already closed.
How about FTIR?
> One possibility is “Remote operation at Moshiri by using a container”.
However, it is not realistic due to safety reasons.
(clear viewing from a public road, heavy snow in winter, …)
> Another is “to move a new site”. The problem is to need much money…
Summary
> ISEE has been established in October 2015 merged with STEL, HyARC
and CCR of Nagoya University. ISEE keeps in touch with the NDACC
activities as well as STEL.
> The “NDACC-mode” measurements with the NIES Bruker 120/5HR are
continued at Rikubetsu.
> Vertical-profile retrievals of O3, HCl, HNO3 and HF using SFIT4 (v0.944)
are made, but the results indicate need of further tuning of the parameters.
> The STEL Rikubetus FTIR (Bruker IFS120M) was refreshed. The ILS
function measured with the HBr gas cell shows a good performance in
comparison with the previous ones.
> Moshiri Observatory will close in next March. We are considering some
options to use the FTIR at any sites including Moshiri.
