Need to know Information
*Notes will be available on my website for
students to look over at home. Please utilize
this resource to help with your student’s
understanding of 6th grade Social Studies.
*Homework assignments will only consist of
finishing assignments that students did not
finish during class. New tasks will not be
assigned as homework.
*Students will be given a study guide for
every test in Social Studies. If students do
not master concepts on their test, they will
be able to have a remediation day and then
retest.
*Task cards will be due at the end of each
unit. These will be posted on my website
incase students are unable to finish these in
class.

Meet Mrs. Martin
Welcome to the 2016 - 2017
school year. I can’t wait to start a new
school year and have the opportunity
to work with you and your student.
I grew up in Statesboro and
graduated from Georgia Southern
University. I have a Bachelors Degree
in Middle Grades Education and a
Masters Degree in Special Education.
I am highly qualified in Middle Grades
(4-8) Science, Social Studies,
Language Arts, and Special
Education (k-12). I have taught 6th
grade Science and Social
Studies, 7th grade Science,
Language Arts, and Social Studies,
and 8th grade Science, Language
Arts, and Social Studies.
This will be my second year
teaching sixth grade Social Studies
and my sixth year at Effingham
County Middle School. In addition to
teaching at ECMS, I am the Girls
ECMS Tennis Coach, High school
Tennis Coach, FCA Sponsor, and the
Jr. Beta Club Sponsor. I have a
wonderful husband that teaches math
at Effingham STEM Academy.
I absolutely love teaching and
working with children, it is truly a
passion of mine. I spent my summer
running vacation bible school at my
church, working at science inventors
camp at Georgia Southern University,
and spending time with my husband,
friends, family, puppy and kittens.
