Overscheduling
• What is overscheduling?
– An overscheduled student has chosen to take too many AP or
Honors courses AND/ OR has chosen to take courses that are too
challenging for him or her.
•
What are the risks?
– Lack of sleep, extreme stress and anxiety (isolation, increased absences,
depression), inability to maintain passing or satisfactory grades
• Prevention plan:
– Think carefully and realistically about your goals and abilities.
Choose courses you are genuinely interested in.
– Consider all of your courses as a whole
– Consider your other commitments. Do you have enough time for
all your classes, sports, social life?
– Consult with counselors and teachers of the courses you are
considering!
