Subject: Math
Topic: Geometry
Title: Angles
Grade(s): 5 and 6
Cross-curricular link(s): Nonspecific
Intended learning outcome(s)
· Students identify the parts and types of angles
· Students measure and create angles with specific measurements
· Students recognize angles in real-life objects
Recommended usage: There are two pictures in the "Attachments" section that I took around my school. You can add to those pictures or use you
own. I took pictures of teachers making angles with their arms and legs. "Teacher Says" is just a game that I use to review, you can delete the slide if
you do not want to play the game.

How do we measure angles?
Some things to notice:
* Line up the vertex to the
circle in the center of the
protractor.
* There are two sets of
numbers (moving opposite
directions). Either can be used.
* You can draw your own angle
using a protractor or you can
measure other angles.
Using a protractor.
Here are some angles to practice on.
Draw angles at the following degrees:
32
104
78
165
10
98
Find the angles in the pictures.
Now, measure the angles in these pictures of real items.
