AcRoCorot
(Stellar)Activity
Rotation
with Corot
After LoI and 1sr Corot Brasil meeting, a need for
people with similar scientific interest to gather and organize
particularly many interests in getting Corot data to study
rotation and stellar activity
AOJuly 05+ Selection (Sept 05):
over 45 proposals, 28 accepted out of which:
10 at least concern AcRoCorot

Questions such as (poster #6 Del Peloso)
What physical processes control the behavior
of rotation during stellar evolution from PMS to PostMS Giants?
How does magnetic breaking affect rotation ?
What physical processes control the generation of magnetic field?
What type(s) of dynamo is at play in stellar interiors?
Do we correctly understand and model surface structures such as spots
and stellar granulation ?
What is the exact nature of the interplay between rotation, convection
and activity ?

AcRoCorot objectives : be ready when data come
to use them efficiently hence organisation of
meetings such as the present one to motivate
- teams with similar interest to continue to meet and talk
(collaboration, exchange of brain thinkings and tools)
- teams with accepted proposal to work it out in more details
* feasibility (observational requirements- adopted techniques)
* lists of target stars
