State of the art products and performance
As a result of market analysis further improvements and
developments of HVAC ductwork will have to come in the
field of :
Energy efficiency
Cost efficiency
Health and Safety
Health and Safety becomes more important
August 28th, 2015, Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP), Attica
Energy efficiency
A need for a new type of inorganic insulation material
Better performing than traditional materials as rockwool and glasswool.
Hydrophobic
Resistant to salt and chemicals
Etc…

Cost efficiency
A need for a new type of inorganic insulation material
Raw materials at lower cost
Preparation of the material at lower cost
Applying the insulation material to the airducts at lower cost by spraying or
injection
August 28th, 2015, Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP), Attica
Cost efficiency
Need for a cost efficient way to clean airducts
Environmental friendly cleaning technology
August 28th, 2015, Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP), Attica
Health and Safety
A need for a new type of fire resistant insulation material
All existing foams are based on organic components, combustible!
Existing non-combustible insulation material with organic binders
August 28th, 2015, Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP), Attica
Health and Safety
Need for new products that will provide higher quality of
ventilated air
Breakdown of bacteria and fungi
Breakdown of VOC’s

NANO-HVAC project
After summary of market needs start of the proposal of the
project with 3 subprojects :
High performing, low cost, fire resistant, sprayable insulating material
Coating for easy cleaning of the HVAC ducts
Coated filter with energy efficient UV LED system for breakdown of bacteria,
fungi and VOC’s.
NANO-HVAC funded by EC under FP7 program GA no : 314212

Penetration, potential growth
Insulating material
We see a lot of potential in the ship industry
Non combustible, fire resistant (very important in ship building),
hydrophobic, high performing (lower insulating thickness, lower volume,
very important in ship building), salt resistant

Penetration, potential growth
Coating for easy cleaning :
Potential in commercial building where cleaning will not or less disturb
activities during cleaning.
August 28th, 2015, Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP), Attica
Penetration, potential growth
Coated filter with UV LED system anti bacterial, anti fungal,
breakdown of VOC’s
Big potential for hospitals (surgery rooms) and homes for elderly people
where people are very vulnerable to bad air quality.
It is obvious that this application will quickly find its way to residential
application
