• Adjust coarse focus until
stage is all the way down
• Place object on stage
• Click low power lens into
place
• Look into the eyepiece –
cover or close one eye
• Use the coarse focus until in
view, then fine focus for
detail to focus
• Follow steps to focus using low power
• Click the nosepiece to the next higher
power objective – middle, then high
• Do NOT use the coarse focus
• Use fine focus only in higher powers
• Use “pointer” to share findings
