Typical Locations for the RK-60 • In rural villages, safe drinking water is a scarce and precious commodity. Local water sources, surface and well water, can become contaminated with worms, cysts, bacteria and viruses. Mortality rates from drinking contaminated water are well documented in these areas. • At the generally accepted figure of 5 litres per person, per day for drinking, food preparation and cooking, the RK-60 is capable of providing a clean, clear safeguarded water supply to sustain in excess of 14500 people. Dow™ Ultra Filtration membrane. The nominal pore diameter of 0.03 micron removes bacteria, viruses and particulates. FRP Media tank filled with granular activated carbon. Granular activated carbon/KDF for final polish and to reduce heavy metals. 8 * Space Certified Technologies 1 Operation and Maintenance • The RK-60 has been developed to deliver clean microbiologically safeguarded water from severely contaminated surface water. • Simple to operate with minimal maintenance required.
