• 219,000 people in the U.S are diagnosed with
lung cancer each year.
• 50% of lung cancer is in people who have
already quit smoking.
• Lung cancer was discovered and published in
1929
The Causes of Lung Cancer
• Smoking
• Radon Gas
• Both of these things will cause lung cancer,
but smoking is much more common as it is
addictive and when the person smokes they
can’t stop so it just gets worse.

Symptoms of lung cancer are:
Struggling to breath.
Pain in chest.
Feeling weak.
Blood in sputum.
How to prevent it
• Don’t smoke.
• Eat fruit and vegetables they contain
antioxidants and flavonoids which help repair
damaged cells. It has been proven the there
are chemicals in broccoli that prevent the
chemicals in tobacco smoke causing sickness.
• Stay away from second hand smoke.
How to fight it
• There are lots of ways to fight lung cancer
most in hospitals.
• There are also myths like:
• Inhaling bubbles will fight cancer.
• Eating broccoli.
• Even Marijuana is said to help.
