About LLS
Mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and
improve the quality of life of patients and
their families.
LLS is a non-profit organization that funds
RESEARCH and helps PATIENTS.
Cancer- Defined
A general term for diseases in which abnormal cells
divide without control and do not properly carry out
their normal function.
 Cancer is not contagious.
 We don’t know what causes blood cancer.
Blood Cancers
Leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma are
cancers that originate in the bone
marrow or lymphatic tissues.
 An estimated 957,902 people in the US
are currently living with blood cancer.
 Leukemia is the most common cancer in
children and young adults.


Last year, 777 schools in MN, ND and SD
raised $630,000 for the research and patient
programs of LLS
 Bring donations (pennies, nickels, dimes,
quarters, dollars, checks) to your homeroom

our goal, the top classroom get a Domino’s
Pizza Party!

