You may use a variety of resources to complete this project;
however, since this is a Web Quest, I would like you use at
least three web sites in your research.
• After viewing each site, please complete a web site evaluation
form.
• You must have 3 of these forms attached to your journal
worksheet.
• Your information must be relevant to the project;
websites that are marketing mouse tap car
products WILL NOT be counted.
• In addition to the web sites, you may use your time in the
library to look at science and technology journals,
magazines, and more to supplement your Internet
research.
• I would strongly recommend you utilize a variety of
resources to complete this project.
Evaluation
• You will be evaluated on both the process of
completing the WebQuest and operation of
the final product (your mousetrap car).
• Before you hand in your project portfolio
(Written Portfolio, project timeline, grading
sheet, graph paper, and mechanical
drawings(front, top, &side…all dimensioned)
Car Test, Project Summary, and SelfEvaluation), please
check the following
rubric to make sure
you have completed
each objective.
Conclusion

Self-evaluation
and Reflection
• After you have completed the worksheet journal, you are to write a
one paragraph, self-evaluation for each of the following questions:
• (in other words - you are writing THREE PARAGRAPHS)
• How did I use my class time? Did I waste time or use my time
effectively?
• How did I use my Instructor and class resources to complete my
project? Did classmates share information regarding web sites and
other information on mousetrap cars?
• If I were to do this same project again, what would I do differently?
• While you are in the process of writing your journal, you will be
evaluating web sites simultaneously. You must also turn in 3 web
site evaluation forms. Click here for the web site evaluation form at
http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/eval.html
Extension
• What would you do different (design improvement,
different construction, etc.) to improve the distance
traveled by your mousetrap car?
• Summarize in at least one paragraph. Turn in your
report with the finish portfolio report
