ACTE stands for the Alabama Council for
Technology in Education.
ACTE sponsors our regional and state tech
fairs.

JSU will host our regional fair.
The JSU tech fair will be held on a Friday at
the end of February at the Leon Cole
Auditorium.

We are Level I – Grades 3rd and 4th
We can enter
3 Individual and 3 Group Projects in:
General Applications
Multimedia
Web Site Creation
Video Production
Hardware Robotics
Projects that do not include sound or motion with
text.
These are projects that look the same on screen and
in print.
Examples:
PowerPoint without transitions or sound
Photography
Books
Artwork
Newsletters
Newspapers
Spread sheets
Projects that contain sound and/or motion
with text.
Examples:
PowerPoint
Storybook Weaver
Scratch
Audio projects
Web Site creations for postings
Requirements:
3 pages hyperlinked together
3 external links to outside information
Screen Shots are needed for notebook
Projects intended to be seen as a movie,
video or broadcast.
Requirements:
10 minute max final cut film
Must use editing software to create
Storyboards/scripts required
All projects require a notebook which
contains:
Title Page - contains title info.
Introductory Page - describes project
Instructions Page - describes how project was
created
Specifications Page - based upon category
chosen, but usually included various hard
copies of work and bibliography
ALL projects must be educational.
Technology should be used appropriately.
Students must create the projects
Originality, Creativity, Imaginative
Academic purpose of project
Complexity of project
Clarity of presentation
Knowledge / Documentation of copyrighted
material – site all sources and use of music at
no longer that 30 seconds
ALL students will take this test at JSU.
Multiple choice written test to test your
knowledge of technology vocabulary and
concepts.
Will be held on a Saturday in April or May at
the University of Auburn at Montgomery.
Only those who place 1st or 2nd at the JSU tech
fair will go on to compete at the state tech
fair.
C average at all times
Satisfactory behavior during all regular and
after school hours
Failure to abide by these rules will result in
removal from the team.
Written parent note for permission to stay at
each after school meeting
Failure to provide a written note will result in
inability to stay for the meeting.
ALL STUDENTS MUST:
WORK PRODUCTIVELY at all times.
REPORT

classroom
IMMEDIATELY upon dismissal.
SPEND TIME working on project at home.
Be RESPONSIBLE.
Be RESPECTFUL.
Be ORGANIZED.
