YOUTH WRESTLING
PARENT MEETING
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
• -To teach the fundamentals of wrestling, good
sportsmanship, and team spirit/friendship
- Have Fun
- We hope this experience will establish a love
and understanding of the sport of wrestling
for both the youth and their parents.
PRACTICE GROUPS/LEVELS-N
• Novice-All wrestlers with no previous
experience. Older wrestlers may only practice
with this group for the first week or two until
they understand basic skills/rules etc
Practice time for Novice:
6:00-6:45 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday
-Do not arrive/drop off more than 10 minutes
early to avoid conflict with H.S. and J.H. practice
PRACTICE GROUPS/LEVELS-I &A
• Intermediate- wrestlers with 1-2 years
experience.
• Advanced- wrestlers with 3 or more years of
experience.
Intermediate and Advanced Practice Time:
6:00-7:30 Monday and Wednesday.
Individuals may be moved between groups based
on their performance and interest/attention.
Practice Calendar
• The practice calendar is available on the youth
wrestling moodle web site. If you do not have
access to a computer, see the coaching staff
for a printed version.
• Please check calendar due to some
changes/additions in practice times due to
school vacations and/or scrimmages.
Practice drop off/pick up
• Wrestlers and parents should enter through
the back gym lobby.
• Entrance to the wrestling room is through the
high school weight room
• For insurance and liability reasons, No One is
permitted to use/play on any of the
equipment.
• Practices will start and end promptly
*Please meet your young children in the weight
room area at the end of practice.
*Parents of Novice wrestlers may watch practices
for the first two weeks.
*If you do not want to leave the building, you may
sit in the hall way outside of the wrestling room and
relax,read, talk etc….
*Due to space limitations, we will not be able to
permit parents to remain in the room during
practices.
WRESTLER EXPECTATIONS
• 1. Wrestlers should use the bathroom prior to
practice. They will not be denied use of the
facilities, but frequent requests causes too
much of a disruption.
• 2.Wrestlers should wear a t-shirt, comfortable
shorts w/o buttons or snaps and clean
sneakers or wrestling shoes. Older wrestlers
should wear head gear. No jewelry.
Wrestler expectations-cont.
• 3. Listen to the direction/whistles etc… of
coaches.
This will help to maintain a productive and
safe learning environment.
Wrestlers who are disruptive will be given
time out along the side of the room before
continuing.

-From the top menu bar, select parents and students
-Select Moodle from the drop down menu
