– Accessed online from your SkyDrive
• Files on the SkyDrive can be viewed
and edited by others with permission

Obtaining a Windows Live ID
and Signing In to Windows Live
• Visit http://home.live.com
• Click Sign-up
• Use your own e-mail address or use
the ID for an existing Microsoft
service
– Examples: Hotmail, Messenger
• Enter the code and click I Accept
• Select Windows Live and then select
the SkyDrive service

Uploading Files to Windows
Live
• Open a document in an Office
application such as PowerPoint
• Use “Save and Send” from the File
Tab
• Select “Save to Web”
• Sign-in to Windows Live
• Save file in the “Save As” dialog

PowerPoint Web App
• Office Web Apps: allows you to edit
your SkyDrive-stored files in the
browser without having Office
installed
• Can also edit files from SkyDrive
directly in the full Office application
installed on the computer

• Navigate to the file in SkyDrive
• Click Edit in Browser
• The file will open in PowerPoint Web
App
• Edit the file with the tools available
• Click the File tab and click Save As
to save the file with a new name

• Folders can be used to organize files
• Open Windows Live
(http://home.live.com)
• Open SkyDrive service
• Use the delete button next to a file or
folder to delete the item
• Use the New function to add folders
or files on your SkyDrive

• Alternative to e-mailing files
– Saves times
– Can edit a single version of the file
– Avoids redundant and overlapping
versions

person to share content with
• Click on the Share link next to an
object
• Enter the name or e-mail address of
your partner
• Define the level of access you are
giving your partner

• Can use the Excel Web App to work
with an Excel spreadsheet on
SkyDrive
• Same look and feel as the full version
of Excel
• Fewer features than full Excel
• To save to the web, use File tab,
click “Save and Send”, then “Save to
Web”
