When creating file and folders – what should you do?
– Make files and folders clear as to what they contain.
– Set the permissions to limit what others can do i.e. read, write , edit

Task – What is a web browser and what is a search
engine ?

A web browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and
traversing information resources on the World Wide Web.
A search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide
Web.
A web address is made up of 2 components sometimes 3.

Bookmarks or favourites

Book marks or favourites are stored web addresses. If you
want to visit a web page again , storing it as a bookmark will
allow you to easily traverse to that webpage in the future.
Task- Skill builder 3.1
1. Open the list of favourites in your browser. Click on an
entry in the list. What happens?
2. Add the address of a website that interests you to your
browser’s favourites.

When looking for information on the internet
you need to ensure :
– The search criteria is accurate
If you do not use good/clear search criteria:
– Lots of hits that are not relevant
Use boolean operators to narrow down the
search.
AND, OR, NOT, = , <, >, <=, =<.
