About Lori Nix
• Lori Nix was born in 1964 at Norton, Kansas. A
place that is known for catastrophic weathers
and infestations for which she has experienced
and witnessed nature casualties since
childhood.
• She started building dioramas and photograph
since 1990s. Now live in Brooklyn, New York
City since 1997, to study landscape and
examine the boundaries where city and rural
landscapes collides.
• Brings all the scenery into her studio and
recreate them by building dioramas.
Accidentally Kansas: Tornado
Recreating an incident that took place in Kansas with the
use of dioramas miniature objects.
Lost: California Forest Fire
Incident that happened in California that Lori chose to redesign
the scenery at her own studio.
The City: Majestic
Took place in the City of New York, called Majestic, that she
designed with an idea if mankind were cease to exist.
Unnatural History: Praying Mantis
Image of magical world between reality and fiction. Natures
taking over what is left from mankind.
