Introduction
Your heart is a muscle. It pumps blood throughout your
entire body. The heart works very hard and depends on
you to keep it functioning properly. Lack of exercise and
an improper diet makes your heart work harder. What
healthy habits can you develop to make your heart’s job
easier?

Task
You will create a health and fitness plan to help support your
heart’s job of maintaining a proper blood flow throughout your
body.
As teams you will:
1)Develop an exercise plan
that will strengthen your
heart.
2)Plan a heart healthy diet
for breakfast, lunch, or
dinner.

Process
You will work in small groups.
Choose exercises from the following links and create
an exercise plan for a healthy heart that includes
three or more cardio exercises.
Choose foods from the following links and create a
balanced menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner that will
support a healthy heart.
Cite specific links used to support/develop your plan.
Demonstrate or create a poster outlining your
exercise plan.
Present a visual representational of a meal from your
menu. (ex. poster, video, prepare meal for class)
