Let’s start! ----- E-mail
Short for electronic-mail
Sends electronic information from
one computer to another
E-mail is often used to deliver bulk
unsolicited messages, or "spam"
SMTP (Simple Mail transfer Protocol) the set of rules that a computer need to
use to be able to exchange electronic
data over the Internet
Filters can be used to delete unwanted
e-mail
Let’s use e-mail….
E-mail: In class Assignment 1
In class Assignment 1:
Open an e-mail program. You can use Flashline if you never used e-mail
before.
Create a message and send it to [email protected].
In the Subject write be “CS19995”
In the body of the message answer the following questions. If you do not
the answer, just say “I do not know”.
What is your name and your class (freshman, sophomore, ect..)?
Briefly introduce yourself by telling me about yourself, your hobbies
and anything you would like me to know about you.
What is your major?
Why did you choose this class?
Do you want a + and – in the final grade?
What is your experience with computers?
What would you expect to learn from this course?
What is your e-mail address?
What is your teacher’s e-mail address?

What is an Interface?
