Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)
Currently, the Quitline is offering 4 weeks of
NRT to participants 18 and over
 Available until June 30, 2014
 This does not apply to Medicaid clients

Medicaid clients receive 12 weeks of NRT or
medication

Quitline offers two main approaches to
receiving counseling
Phone counseling – call 1 800 QUIT NOW and
enroll with quit coaches for a series of phone
counseling sessions
 Web coaching – individualized coaching anytime
Each method suits different personality styles and
technology levels


“Addressing Tobacco Use in Iowa: The Brief
Tobacco Intervention” is a self-guided training
course for health professionals. It teaches
health care providers the skills needed to use
the brief tobacco intervention and how to refer
patients to the Quitline (2As and R).
 Health professionals will earn CEUs, CMEs
