Discussed (cont.)
• People were happy with the coverage of the book
• Glossary of terms such as NGS, OMII-UK, NeSC, e-SI
proposed – online and in the book
• Low level working group suggested including NGS,
OMII-UK and NeSC etc to ensure better collaboration
regards online glossary, Wikipedia etc.
• Two levels of definitions in the glossary / knowledge
base – one for computer scientists and one for users /
potential users
• Possible potential for an OGF working group on user
community

Discussion (cont.)
• OGF working group – identify the people to take this
forward (users, NGS, OMII-UK, NeSC)
• Find a mechanism of support for users to attend OGF
meetings
• For users to contribute as moderators
• Plan a workshop to identify which resource to use for
the knowledge management (e.g. MyExperiment,
Facebook, Gridipedia, Digital Library)
• But first of all decide what we want the tool to do
before we choose the tool
• Question driven for users e.g. how can I make my
databases available?

Conclusions
• Still need to address ability to make the whole area
visible to the broad range of users
• Need to hook into the Learned Societies such as
Royal Society of Chemistry through case studies,
book reviews but all written by users
