Description:
Participants will learn skills for using the SMART Board including: designing interactive lesson activities, exploring
the SMART possibilities, creating lessons and gaining other additional resources. ISTE’s NETS for students will be
embedded in instruction.

iPod level 1
Intro and Applications
NETS for students
Description:
Participants will be introduced to the iPod Touch and gain knowledge about the many applications that can be used to
enhance reading, writing, and math skills. Additionally, participants will discuss how the iPod can be implemented
into the classroom for teacher and student use. ISTE’s NETS for students will be embedded in instruction.

Web 2.0
Tools for Classroom Use
NETS for students
Description:
Participants will learn about Web 2.0 tools available for use in the classroom. Tools like Glogster, Animoto, Flickr,
Curriki, Jing, VoiceThread, Evernote, Posterous, Vimeo, SlideShare, Prezi, etc., will be shared. Participants will work
to bookmark these tools, build their learning in a workshop manner, and have practical application of Web 2.0 uses.
ISTE’s NETS for students will be embedded in instruction.

Description:
Participants will create a Google account and begin using online resources available through Google in order to
inform daily tasks. Google Docs, iGoogle, Calendar, Sketch-up, Maps, and Earth will be highlighted.

Description:
Participants will learn: best practices and tools, review of Notebook software, structuring and organizing lessons,
adding style to lesson activities, building interactive lesson activities and integrating rich media into lesson
activities.

iPod level 2
Creating and Using Podcasts
NETS for students
Description:
Participants will begin working with iPod applications and building their library of applications. More apps will be
introduced and shared. Participants will also work to create and use available podcasts and vodcasts with the use of
the iPod.

Using Web 2.0 in the Classroom
NETS for students
Description:
Participants will learn more Web 2.0 tools. Participants will bookmark these tools, demonstrate practical
application of Web 2.0 uses, and participate in idea sharing for use within the classroom. ISTE’s NETS for
students will be embedded in instruction.

Description:
Participants will learn how to build a course using Moodle and add resources for student use. Course organization, design, and basic set-up will be
taught and practiced. Participants will leave with a working course to start 2010-2011. ISTE’s NETS for students will be embedded in instruction.

Description:
Participants will learn how to make lesson more attention-grabbing, how to use technology effectively, how to easily add multimedia into lessons,
and how to model comprehension strategies for learners. Web 2.0 tools will be shared and participants will work to create and share a document
with other interactive websites. ISTE’s NETS for students will be embedded in instruction.

Moodle II (NYM)
Adding to your course
NETS for students
Description:
Participants will learn how about Moodle features can add to their online learning environment. Discussion forums, blogs, wikis, chats, quizzes,
and other Moodle features will be highlighted and practiced. Participants will leave with a Moodle course with a variety of Moodle feature
embedded. ISTE’s NETS for students will be embedded in instruction.
