Web Page Assignment (Spring 2014)
Points: 30
Step 1: Order and Download and install Xara Web Design 9 Premium
and purchase Xara Web Design Tutorials. Be sure to safely store any
passwords and serial numbers.
Step 2: Play with the package so that you are familiar with it. Go
through the tutorials and practice what you have learned.
Step 3: Construct a practice Web page and “play” with the tools that
you have learned.
Step 4: With the purchase of Xara Web Design 9 Premium you get a
free domain name and 500 megabytes of storage on a host site. The
host site and the domain name are supplied by MAGIX a company
that now owns Xara. Your tutorials will show you how to set up the
accounts. Be sure to remember any passwords. Use tutorials 35, 36,
and 37 to establish your host site & domain name.
Step 5: Xara is a very powerful Web tool and this causes more
complexity than some other weaker tools. YOU NEED TO PRACTICE
THE TUTORIALS. The tutorials are very good and they will reduce
complexity to simplicity.
Step 6: Plan your Web project and get started.
Step 7: Form a group of three. XARA DOES NOT RUN ON A
MACINTOSH. If you have only a Macintosh, you can use Xara in the
CBA lab, 1009,
Step 8: The team makes a 2-3 minute presentation: Month/Day/Year.
(This was made optional for the Spring 2014 class.)
