Paula Begoun points out in her book
Don't Go Shopping For Hair-Care
Products Without Me that salon
shampoos don't necessarily have better
formulas (“Shampoo Reviews,” 2006).

To find out what the best shampoos are, we turned to
the excellent book, Don't Go Shopping For Hair-Care
Products Without Me. We also read excellent articles at
the Web sites Which? Online and Choice Online, and
Good Housekeeping magazine, as well as consumer
contributions to opinion sites like Epinions. Consumer
Reports magazine has a brief article on shampoo
ingredients from January of 2004…. An earlier
Consumer Reports article from 2000 is much more
comprehensive and well done, but is too old to include
more recent shampoos (“Shampoo Reviews,” 2006).
