Florida SAL College System Objective
The objective and purpose of the Florida SAL
College System is to increase, improve and
enhance the administrative and managerial
skills of current and future leaders of the
Florida Sons of The American Legion through
education and direct skill development.

All District and Squadron Adjutants receive the
Detachment’s Administrative Manual each year.
In this Administrative Manual all required reports
are included.
Let’s take some time to discuss them.
Americanism
Report
REPORT DEADLINE:

The Americanism
Commission is
concerned with the
promotion of
Americanism among
the communities of our
State. Certainly, this
should be a major
project for local SAL
Squadrons. There are
various ways in which
a Squadron may
promote Americanism.
The needs of the
community, and ability
of the local Squadrons
determine the extent
of the projects.

Youth
Report

on behalf of Children
& Youth. Through the
reports received, the
Commission is able to
formulate new
programs which better
serve the needs of our
organization and the

VAVS Volunteer
of the Year
REPORT DEADLINE:

This award is
presented annually to
the SAL member who
does outstanding work
within the Veterans
Affairs Volunteer
Service Program.
This requires the
member to volunteer
in a VA recognized
facility (Home or
Hospital).
Silver Star
Award
REPORT DEADLINE:
J U N E 1 ST
The Sons of The
American Legion,
Detachment of Florida,
will award a Silver
Star Pin to each SAL
member who has
earned ten (10) or
more points for
signing up new SAL
members, reinstated
members, or renewal
members for the Sons
of The American
Legion, Detachment of
Florida for the
membership year prior
to JUNE 1st.

This is a compilation
of all of the Reports
that your Squadron
will submit for the
year. It is a little bit
of duplication, but it
is easier to calculate
all of the totals for the
end of the year.

This report form
example is dated but
the premise for
National to use this
form to judge reports
from the Squadrons
and Detachments.

Officers Report
REPORT DEADLINE:
J U N E 1 ST
This report is submitted by
the Squadron Adjutant, or
other appropriate official,
for the purpose of
certifying the newly
elected Squadron Officers.
The deadline for
submitting this report is
directly after Squadron
elections and prior to the
Detachment Convention.
This is the most important
report that will be
requested by the
Detachment. With the
submission of the Squadron
Officers Report, newly
elected Squadron Officers
are placed on the
Detachment Directory. This
Directory is the basis for
all mailings from
Department.

REPORT DEADLINE:
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
This report is used after
you have sent in the
Squadron Officer
Report. If a change of
officer and/or officer
address and phone
number has occurred,
use this form.
Department
Headquarters mailing
lists; for THE SOURCE,
weekly membership
statements, etc., are
based on information
you send us. Mail will
go to the last
information you have
given us unless we
receive this form.
SAL Membership
Transmittal Sheet
TO BE SUBMITTED
WITH EACH
MEMBERSHIP
SUBMISSION
This form is used to
ensure that membership
that is transmitted is
done so correctly. It
will assist the
Department Membership
Staff to make sure that
our membership is
listed correctly on our
membership reports and
reported to National.
Certification of
Convention
Delegates
REPORT DEADLINE:
BRING TO
CONVENTION
This form should be
submitted by the
Squadron Commander or
Adjutant for the
purpose of certifying
the Detachment
Convention Delegates
and Alternates.
The first Delegate listed
should be the
Delegation Chairman.
Additional forms should
be used if further space
is needed to list
Delegates. The form
should be signed by the
Squadron Commander
and the Squadron
Adjutant.
