Activity Title: (Virtual Lab) Gas Stoichiometry and Motion of a Gas
Summary: Students will learn how to calculate the volume of a gas in a balloon using
image processing and real lab equipment. Students will also visually see how a balloon
is inflated by collisions using NetLogo.
 Click on Pre-assessment link and do the
“connected chemistry 1: bike tire” activity.
 Do the Calculations with questions 1 & 2.
 Use ImageJ and the formulas for a sphere
and cylinder to calculate Volume.
 Do the %error comparing your answers from
your questions 1 & 2 to what you found
from your ImageJ calculations.
 Do you Post Assessment questions.

One partner weigh balloons, Baking Soda, and Zinc.
One partner add 5.00mL of 3.0M HCl to two test tubes.
While holding top of balloon, slowly add to acid.
Make sure you fill out all data cells on lab sheet.
Take Picture and transfer to a computer.
