Step 1: Essential Skill
 Each unit has 2 essential skills each for a total of 6.
 Determine which essential skill you have the lowest grade in.
Check PowerSchool.
 Determine which main topic you would like to teach within
that essential skill.
Essential Skills
Unit 1: Cell Biology
 I can explain how macromolecules are built and their roles in the
human body.
 I can identify the different cell types and their organelle structures
and functions.
Unit 2: Cells and Energy
 I can analyze the importance of enzymes in life processes and
explain what would occur in their absence.
 I can explain the storage and release of different types of cell
energy.
Unit 3: Molecular Genetics
 I can show how genes are a blueprint for amino acid sequences
which determine characteristics.
 I can describe the importance of mutations and sexual
reproduction leading to genetic variation.
TAC it!
 T: Teach me something from that essential
skill.
 A: Apply it to valid, scientific research that
has been conducted within the past 36
months.
 C: Connect the concept to the real world.
