DXM
Dextromethorphan (DXM), is a
synthetic drug that is chemically similar
to morphine.

POPULARITY
Over-the-counter drugs, especially
cough and cold medications are
becoming very popular as recreational
drugs for young teenagers between
the ages of 12 to 16.

The internet has also
become a popular place for
teens to purchase powdered
form of pure DXM.

DXM are very easily
accessed through local
pharmacies and grocery
stores. Although many
stores make attempts to
monitor and deter
accessibility

THE HIGH
Large doses of DXM can produce feeling of
euphoria and hallucinations .
The effects of a DXM high can last up to 6
hrs.

“ROBO SHAKE”
“Robo Shake” is when the user drink a large
amount of cough syrup containing DXM and then
force themselves to vomit as to absorb enough
DXM through the stomach lining .

being used by teens; taken in large doses (one
entire package or more), Dramamine can cause
hallucinations.

Sleep aids such as Tylenol PM, Excedrin
PM, and Sominex can cause extreme
drowsiness when abused.
