What Is The CAP DDR Program?






Chartered to make CAP a drug-free environment
Began in 1994
Focused on Air Force family
Integrated into Air Force DDR mission
Funded by the Air Force Surgeon General
Primary emphasis is on CAP Cadet Program

DDRP Mission

Assist squadrons, groups, wings and regions to instill an
aggressive, positive, drug-free attitude in CAP
members, Air Force families, DoD civilians and schoolage children through a comprehensive program that:
 Promotes CAP as a positive community service
lifestyle
 Encourages youth to remain in school
 Focuses on drug abuse education, prevention and
awareness
 Provides positive activities as an alternative to drugs 3
Why Is DDRP Important?


DDRP provides:
 Drug education programs
 Drug abuse prevention
 Drug-free attitude
 Increased drug awareness
DDRP is well received

Increases knowledge and awareness of drug abuse/use
Keeps pace with ever-changing drug use patterns
Uses Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard
resources
Uses other local resources

Provides substance abuse information/classes
Supports CAP units with student training materials,
videos, classroom and audiovisual equipment and
accessories
Facilitates approved regional DDR conferences with
DDRAs
Provides portable display booths and videos to
advertise and promote CAP DDRP

School Program







Now known as School Enrichment Program
Focuses on drug-free lifestyle while developing students
Conducted during or after school
Allows CAP participation in both school and local
(host) squadrons
Maintains same standards as regular CAP Cadet
Program
Starts in 6th grade and can continue through 12th grade
Offers a ready-to-use, structured program that provides
a positive leadership experience

Community Outreach


Objective: Be a forefront organization in the
community to communicate with other youngsters on
issues such as illegal drug use
Partner cadets with base and local activities to support
anti-drug activities
