Tuning Forks, Precautions
Created by
Christi Bonds-Garrett, M.D.
Let’s make sure that everyone is
activating their forks appropriately:
How to hold in hand
How to strike activator
How to place on body
For how long, etc.
How to hold your tuning fork?
Use moderate pressure
By the stem/base
Not by the prongs
How to Activate your Tuning Fork?
Activators: leg strap, table top (which
may be placed in a pants pocket, too)
Firmly and briskly tap the angle of the
weight on the weighted tuning fork;
Or, firmly and briskly tap the flat side of
the unweighted tuning fork
In general, do not tap the tuning forks
on one another.
Occasionally you will tap the
unweighted tuning forks together when
you intentionally want to create many
overtones. Examples would include the
Benediction sequence, which is used
over the body.
How to Place your Tuning Fork on the
body?
Firmly but gently place the tuning fork
stem on the desired acupuncture point
on the body
When using intervals, try to place both
tuning forks simultaneously
You may need to angle the fork,
depending on your intention
– Huato jiaji, muscle spasms
How long to hold your Tuning Fork on the
body?
Hold the tuning fork to the body as long as
the vibration is fairly strong, i.e., 20-30
seconds
Sometimes the vibration decreases rapidly
because it is needed by the client, so
remove the fork when the vibration has
lessened even if it is only 10-15 seconds
Do not let the vibration totally end while
the fork is still on the body
In the 2+ years that VRT has been
spreading all over the world, we have
seen many remarkable outcomes!
We have also seen that the
combination of multiple levels of
frequencies makes them all more
powerful
SUBTLE Aromatherapy means using
essential oils in non-physical ways
Affects primarily the subtle bodies:
emotional body, mental body, spiritual
body, etheric body
Heals the physical body by influencing
the subtle (energy) bodies
Requires the use of LOWER doses
Weak concentrations
of biological agents
stimulate
physiological activity
Medium
concentrations of
agents depress
physiological activity
Large concentrations
halt physiological
activity
For that reason, use less essential oil in
VRT: 2-3 drops is sufficient when used in
combination with tuning forks
You may use even less oil (1 drop) when
used in combination with multiple
modalities (tuning forks, color, etc.)
Raindrop V-6 to the spine prior to
raindropping oils
Provides for proper “glide” of the tuning
fork along the huato jiaji or muscle bands
Drug or alcohol intoxication
Pacemaker
Seizure disorder
Bleeding disorder or the use of blood
thinners
Infections, open wounds, skin disorders
Organ transplant
Pregnancy
Allergy to metal
Remove hearing aids
